Theres no hard or fast rule to chatting on a first or second date but if you have something in common with that person that youve emailed back and forth for a week or so, then whats stopping you chatting in the real world with flair and gusto! Sometimes chit chat is easier for some people more than others, and if you do struggle with conversations like that, practising with friends and work colleagues can help you significantly (unless of course its your friend that you have the massive crush on). As a rule, dont use chat up lines. Try to be yourself, be natural, and not smutty. Dont ask her if how she likes her eggs, nor if she has 10p for the phone because youre doomed to fail. You may get away with cheeky ones if shes not such a serious type, but more often than not, its not worth it so dont even go there. Just be yourself, be honest and open. If you can connect with them on that level, everything else should and will fall into place. Theres a lot that can be said for a smile, and a glance done at the right time. Dont try to tell long winded jokes. Comedians may very well be able to laugh you into bed, but unless youre Lee Evans or Lee Mack, dont think that youll be able to do the same in one night. Just relax, and be you. Listen to what she has to say, and respond to any questions with more than a yes or a no. The way she reacts to you will give you more than enough to go on. Find something that youre both interested in to chat about. Could be sport, movies, even knitting if youre that way inclined. Make her feel at ease. When she replies to you, dont be judgemental and just listen. If youre not into what shes talking about just listen anyway, and maybe move the conversation on in a different way. TV is always good to talk about - although dont reel off the plot lines to the last 10 years of EastEnders or she may just dump you there and then. Compliment her, everyone wants to be appreciated. Dont however go overboard. Be endearing, not smarmy. Compliments that you can give, can range from "you smell lovely", "you have beautiful eyes" to how you love the sound of her giggle.
