Today?s environment is a tough one for anyone who is looking to find employment. With over 15 million individuals out of work in the United States it can be very competitive to even get an interview let alone land the job you applied for. To make matters worse with the popularity of the internet you don?t just generally compete with local people who are looking for work but you are usually against national job hunters and sometimes even global. To compete against such broad competition you need to think outside of the box when it comes to finding sources for employment. Always think of ways to decrease the amount of competitors you will have for any given position. After that think of ways that you can make yourself stand out of the crowd from all the others who applied for the job, whether this be by using a well researched cover letter, a friendly phone call, or solving a problem that the employer didn?t even know they had.
